Emmanuelle Sanglar

Born in 1974 in Bayonne, France, she started to play the piano at the age of 5 years. A little bit later she was being taught by Ada Labèque. Thereafter she performed regularly in public. She obtained first prices at different international competitions (CMF, UFAM, Royaume de la Musique, Bellan). At the age of 15 she started her conservatory studies with Bruno Rigutto at the Conservatoire National Supérieure de Musique (CNSM) in Paris. Two first prices were given to her for piano and chamber music. Emmanuelle continued her education at the "Liszt-Academy" in Budapest and at the "L'Accademica Pianistica Incontro Col Maestro" in Imola in Italy. In Imola she studied with the Russian pianist Leonid Margarius. After her return to France she attended the "Accompagnant Vocal" class by Anne Grapotte, specialized in song and melody. Attracted to the universe of song she formed for several years a duo with the tenor Carl Ghazarossian with whom she won the "Prix Poulenc du Tryptique de Paris" in 2000. In the same period she got a degree for vocal accompaniment with the qualification "good". Since then she performs regularly in France and abroad. She is a much sought chamber music partner, especially in the combination flute piano. At the Convention Française de la Flûte in 1996, 2000 and 2008 she played together with, among others, the famous flutists Shigenori Kudo, Maxence Larrieu, Philippe Pierlot, Philippe Bernold and Jean-Pierre Rampal. Emmanuelle Sanglar teaches piano and à vue reading at the conservatory of Chachan (94). Because she decided to share her passion for the music with others, she started the festival "Souffles d'été" in basque country in 1998. This year the festival celebrates its 15th birthday.
