Kees Buskes (flute) & Beate Loonstra (harp)

Beate Loonstra (1992) plays already harp since she was six. At this moment she is studying for her master's degree at the Conservatory of Utrecht with the excellent harpist Erika Waardenburg. Beate has won already prices at numerous competitions like the Dutch Harpconcours (2004), the Prinses Christina Concours (2010 and 2011), the Rosa Spier Harpconcours (2011) and also at the international music-contest Perpetuum Mobile (2011). She assisted at master-classes of reputed musicians in the Netherlands and abroad and also she played already as soloist with various orchestras. Beate likes to play in different combinations and genres; solo, in ensembles (among these her duo Klein Geluk with soprano Rianne Wilbers) or with choir and/or orchestra. Highlights in her still young career are her duo-play with the well-known violinist Emmy Verhey and several live-performances on radio 4. So she performed on the tenth of February 2015 in Opium with songs by Debussy and Ravel for soprano and harp. Beate would like to pass the strict borders of classical music. Therefore she has taken jazz-lessons, among other teachers with harpist Rosetty de Ruiters. Also she made recently her début with the famous Metropole Orchestra.
